Awards & Achievements

Tidewater aims to provide exceptional service to our customers while maintaining safe and environmentally responsible operations. While we don’t do these things to earn independent recognition, we are nonetheless very proud of the awards that we have earned. Below are just a few of the various recognitions earned by Tidewater.

Industry Recognition

2021

NAMEPA has issued its Maritime Sustainability Passport to Tidewater for successfully meeting, or exceeding, the benchmarks for NAMEPA’s CSR/ESG program for 2021.

2020

Tidewater named among the top 100 public companies in Houston by the Houston Chronicle.

Tidewater was recognized by the Offshore Support Journal as the Shipowner of the Year for the company’s leadership in the sector, including successfully combining with GulfMark Offshore to create the largest OSV fleet globally.

2019

Tidewater was awarded first place for AHTS and FSV services by EnergyPoint Research as part of their annual Oilfield Products & Services Customer Satisfaction Survey. Companies were evaluated in multiple attributes, including total satisfaction, pricing and contract terms, performance and reliability, technology, engineering and design, job quality, safety and environmental (HSE), service and professionalism, post‑sale support, and corporate capabilities.

2018

Tidewater received the following Chamber of Shipping of America Annual Awards:

  • Jones Delvin Award for 101 vessels. The Jones Delvin Awards are presented by the Chamber of Shipping, and are awarded to self-propelled merchant vessels that have operated for two full years or more without a crewmember losing a full turn at watch because of an occupational injury.
2017

Tidewater received the following Chamber of Shipping of America Annual Awards:

  • Jones Delvin Award for 116 vessels. The Jones Delvin Awards are presented by the Chamber of Shipping, and are awarded to self-propelled merchant vessels that have operated for two full years or more without a crewmember losing a full turn at watch because of an occupational injury.
2016

Tidewater received the following Chamber of Shipping of America Annual Awards: 

  • Jones Delvin Award for 141 vessels.  The Jones Delvin Awards are presented by the Chamber of Shipping, and are awarded to self-propelled merchant vessels that have operated for two full years or more without a crewmember losing a full turn at watch because of an occupational injury.
2015

Tidewater received the following Chamber of Shipping of America Annual Awards:

  • Safety Achievement Award:  M/V William C Hightower and the M/V Spooner Tide.  The Safety Achievement Awards are presented by the Chamber of Shipping, and are awarded to vessels recognized for performing outstanding feats of safety which may include, but are not limited to rescue, assistance to distressed vessels, transfer of ill or injured persons under difficult sea conditions and demonstrations of safety and ship operations which have contributed to saving a life or a ship.
  • Jones Delvin Awards for 209 vessels.  The Jones Delvin Awards are presented by the Chamber of Shipping, and are awarded to self-propelled merchant vessels that have operated for two full years or more without a crewmember losing a full turn at watch because of an occupational injury.
2014

Tidewater received the following Chamber of Shipping of America Annual Awards:

  • Safety Achievement Award:  M/V Kehoe Tide.  The Safety Achievement Awards are presented by the Chamber of Shipping, and are awarded to vessels recognized for performing outstanding feats of safety which may include, but are not limited to rescue, assistance to distressed vessels, transfer of ill or injured persons under difficult sea conditions and demonstrations of safety and ship operations which have contributed to saving a life or a ship.
  • Jones Delvin Awards for 200 Tidewater vessels.  The Jones Delvin Awards are presented by the Chamber of Shipping, and are awarded to self-propelled merchant vessels that have operated for two full years or more without a crewmember losing a full turn at watch because of an occupational injury.
  • Citation of Merit:  M/V Reynaldo Tide
2013

Tidewater received the following Chamber of Shipping of America Annual Awards:

  • Jones Delvin Award for 195 Tidewater vessels.  The Jones Delvin Awards are presented by the Chamber of Shipping, and are awarded to self-propelled merchant vessels that have operated for two full years or more without a crewmember losing a full turn at watch because of an occupational injury.
  • Citation of Merit:  M/V Domingue Tide and M/V Reynaldo Tide
2012

Tidewater received the following Chamber of Shipping of America Annual Awards:

  • Jones Delvin Award for 198 Tidewater vessels.  The Jones Delvin Awards are presented by the Chamber of Shipping, and are awarded to self-propelled merchant vessels that have operated for two full years or more without a crewmember losing a full turn at watch because of an occupational injury.
  • Letter of Commendation:  M/V Loge Tide, M/V McKenny Tide and M/V Reynaldo
2011
  • On November 21, 2011, two crew members from the M/V Damon B Bankston, Chief Engineer, Anthony Gervasio and QMED Louis Longlois received a Certificate of Commendation from IMO in recognition of meritorious services during the rescue of the Deepwater Horizon crew.
  • On April 15, 2011, the United States Eighth Coast Guard District presented outstanding achievement awards to the crew of the M/V Damon B Bankston for their heroic search and rescue efforts immediately following the catastrophic explosion and fire onboard the Deepwater Horizon on April 20, 2010.  Captain Alwin Landry was presented the Certificate of Valor, Qmed, Louis Longlois received the Silver Lifesaving Medal, Chief Engineer, Anthony Gervasio received the Gold Lifesaving Medal, and the entire crew received the Distinguished Public Service Award.

Tidewater received the following Chamber of Shipping of America Annual Awards:

  • Jones Delvin Award for 199 Tidewater vessels.  The Jones Delvin Awards are presented by the Chamber of Shipping, and are awarded to self-propelled merchant vessels that have operated for two full years or more without a crewmember losing a full turn at watch because of an occupational injury.
  • Citation of Merit:  M/V Reynaldo Tide and M/V Zimbo Tide
  • Letter of Commendation:  M/V Couper Tide, M/V Kenny Tide, M/V Lim Tide, M/V Mervat Tide, M/V Oliver Tide, M/V Soyo Tide and M/V Tiger Tide
2010
  • The crew of the M/V Damon B Bankston received the 2010 Top Honor Safety Achievement Award presented by the Chamber of Shipping of America for their remarkable performance during the Deepwater Horizon disaster.
  • McDermott presented Tidewater Marine International Inc. the best third party vessel operator for its safest and most reliable vessels with impeccable services of the M/V Carlson Tide, M/V Dickerson Tide and the M/V Hanks Tide.
  • Tidewater Marine Australia Pty Ltd received its first Platinum Safety Achiever Award for five years of  LTI / LTA accident free accomplishment presented by IFAP.
  • Tidewater Marine Australia Pty Ltd received the Dynamic Positioning Excellence Award.
  • Captain Alwin Landry received the Shipmaster of the Year Award for his life-saving action during the Deepwater Horizon tragedy presented by Lloyd’s List.  The purpose of the Shipmaster of the Year Award is to recognize and value the ultimate responsibility of the Master for the safety of the ship, her crew and her cargo as well as the safety of life at sea.
  • Tidewater received an Award of Excellence for its conceptual design and key messaging to its target audience, investors, presented by the Business Marketing Association (BMA) – Houston, Texas chapter.
  • Tidewater presented the first ever Chairman’s Award to the crew of the M/V Damon B Bankston crew for their heroic efforts performed on April 20, 2010, in the Gulf of Mexico during the rig fire of the Deepwater Horizon.

Tidewater received the following Chamber of Shipping of America Annual Awards:

  • Jones Delvin Award for 201 Tidewater vessels.  The Jones Delvin Awards are presented by the Chamber of Shipping, and are awarded to self-propelled merchant vessels that have operated for two full years or more without a crewmember losing a full turn at watch because of an occupational injury.
  • Citation of Merit:  M/V D’Souza Tide and M/V William C Hightower
  • Letter of Commendation:  M/V Astertor Tide, M/V Redel Tide, M/V Sasi Tide, and M/V Wilbert Tide
  • Captain Charles E. Stuart received the International Dynamic Positioning Operators Association Award for 2011 DP Mentor of the Year.  This award was presented to him at the DP Asia Conference in  Singapore on June 22, 2011.  Captain Stuart also won the same award in 2010.
  • The M/V Carline Tide received a Certificate Award from the Chamber of Commerce in the Campos oilfield located in Brazil for alertness and good seamanship for responding to an emergency helicopter landing at sea.
